Статья посвящена анализу этнодемографических изменений, происходивших в арктических районах Республики Саха (Якутия) с конца XIX по начало XXI века. На основе данных всероссийских и всесоюзных переписей населения выявлены трансформации численности, этнического состава, возрастно-половой структуры, а также миграционных процессов. Особое внимание уделено влиянию климатических условий, социально-экономических факторов и государственной политики на демографическую устойчивость коренных малочисленных народов Севера. Рассмотрены проблемы депопуляции, смертности и снижения этнокультурной идентичности в контексте изолированности арктических территорий и ограниченного доступа к базовым услугам.
The article is devoted to the analysis of ethno-demographic changes that occurred in the Arctic regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from the end of XIX to the beginning of XXI century. Based on the data of All-Russian and All-Union population censuses, the article reveals transformations in the number, ethnic composition, age-sex structure, as well as migration processes. Special attention is paid to the influence of climatic conditions, socio-economic factors and state policy on the demographic sustainability of small indigenous peoples of the North. The problems of depopulation, mortality and decline of ethno-cultural identity in the context of isolation of the Arctic territories and limited access to basic services are considered.
