В 2024 г. исполняется 90 лет высшему образованию Якутии. Одной из самых ярких страниц истории Якутского государственного университета является студенческий спорт и физкультура. Актуальность статьи связана не только с юбилейной датой, но и с тем, что в настоящее время наиболее острой является проблема низкой физической подготовленности и развития студентов. Не секрет, что с каждым годом увеличивается количество школьников и студентов, отнесенных к специальной медицинской группе по состоянию здоровья. Борьба за здоровый образ жизни, за развитие физической культуры началась не сегодня, ее развитие мы видим еще в середине ХХ века в стенах университета. Изучение истории становления физического воспитания как части образовательного процесса, создание спортивных секций и достижений студентов в различных видах спорта имеет первостепенное значение. Ведь занятие спортом и физической культурой особенно важно в современном обществе.

The relevance of the article is associated not only with the anniversary date, but also with the fact that at present the most acute problem is the low physical fitness and development of students.
