Представлены результаты исследования особенностей деградации бивня мамонта Mammuthus Primigenius при залегании в естественных условиях, а также в условиях, моделирующих существующие методы хранения ископаемой мамонтовой кости (ИМК) после добычи и в период складирования. Выявлены благоприятные и неблагоприятные условия хранения. Благоприятными являются условия, обеспечивающие стабильность температуры и влажности воздуха. В ходе испытаний выявлена обратно пропорциональная зависимость между влагонасыщением и физико-механическими свойствами: прочность более влагонасыщенных образцов ниже, разрушение протекает вязко; образцы, потерявшие значительное количество влаги характеризуются высокими значениями прочности, механизм разрушения хрупкий.
The results of study of the peculiarities of the degradation of the mammoth tusk MammuthusPrimigenius when it occurs in natural conditions, as well as in conditions that simulate the existing methods of storing fossil mammoth bone (FMB) after extraction and during the storage period are presented. Favorable and unfavorable storage conditions are revealed. Conditions that ensure the stability of temperature and humidity are favorable. During the tests, an inversely proportional relationship between moisture saturation and physical and mechanical properties was revealed: the strength of the more moisture-saturated samples is lower, the destruction proceeds viscously; samples that have lost a significant amount of moisture are characterized by high strength values, the fracture mechanism is fragile.
